ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS The National Sports day is celebrated every year on 29th August to mark the tradition of Sports in India and as a tribute to the Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Sports Authority of India is celebrating this year's National Sports Day, as part of the FIT INDIA campaign, through pan-India sports events with the theme of Sports as an enabler for an inclusive and fit society. Sporting events are organized for different levels, including both professional as well as recreational events among people of various age groups, and of all walks of life.
In Madhya Pradesh, the Sports Authority of India Regional Central Bhopal, in association with the Directorate of Sports, Madhya Pradesh, is celebrating National Sports Day in true sporting spirit as sports fiesta across the State. All the SAI training centres across the state, SAI NCOE Bhopal, Khelo India Academies, Khelo India centres, State Government Sports Centres in all Districts, schools, colleges etc will host sports events from old school games like Pithu, Gilli sack race, lemon race to contemporary sports like football, basketball, sprints etc where people of all walks of life, all age-group can join and enjoy a day filled with fitness & sports.
On the occasion of National Sports Day, Meet the Champion programs will be organized by SAI across the country where school children will get an opportunity to interact with the iconic athletes who brought laurels to the Nation. In Madhya Pradesh, ace shooter of the country , Padma Shri Jitu Rai will interact with students in Delhi public School Bhopal.
Sports clubs, schools, colleges, individuals and other organizations can join the Nationwide Celebrations by registering for their event with participation details at https://fitindia.gov.in and post pictures/videos on social media with hashtag #Sports4Unity and #NationalSportsDay
Hon’ble Union Sports Minister will also interact with a few sporting icons participating with children/athletes at school/ colleges. Live telecast of that would be available from5 PM onwards on 29th August 2022 on the YouTube channel of Fit India Mission
Sports Authority of India Regional Centre Bhopal appeals everybody to join hands to celebrate National Sports Day and to adopt Fitness as a way of life.
