ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R BJP MP Rajyavardhan Rathore, on Monday, tore into the “liberals”, accusing them of hypocrisy as they have remained silent on the murder of a Bajrang Dal activist in Karnataka.

"Look at the hypocrisy of this country's 'pseudo-liberals'. A person named Harsha demanded uniform civil code, expressed his freedom of expression, and was killed after a fatwa was issued against him," the MP said.

He claimed that the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party play vote bank politics, and do not take action on terrorism and even promote it. "Country's benefit and security comes last in their agenda list, power comes first," the BJP MP said.

Meanwhile, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant claimed that Harsha was targeted for supporting the campaign against wearing hijab in educational institutes in Karnataka.

Sawant wrote on social media, “Is the FOE (Freedom of Expression) an exclusive right of some people, who consider themselves more entitled than others? Harsha was killed by anti national, anti Hindu fundamentalists in Shivamogaa for supporting #NoToHijab #YesToUniform.”

He further said,“Harsha was a Nationalist. I condemn this barbaric act. My deepest sympathies are with the family members and friends.”

Harsha, a resident of Seegehatti in Shivamogaa district, was attacked by a group of unidentified persons on Sunday night, following which he was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Harsha's brother Praveen said the deceased was an active member of the Sangathan. "He only used to think about Hindus and that is what killed him. Last night we were informed that he has been admitted to a hospital. We want strict to be taken against the culprits," ANI quoted him as saying.
