ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS Paediatrician Kafeel Khan says he has not received any intimation by the Uttar Pradesh government on termination of his services from Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Gorakhpur.
Khan was working at the hospital when he was suspended in 2017 after the death of 63 children due to an oxygen shortage at the facility. Khan has maintained he had been made a scapegoat in the incident.
His termination was widely reported on Thursday, but he told THE WEEK this morning that he came to know about his sacking from the media.
“Termination is a black spot in my career. They could have accepted my resignation letter,” said Khan.
Khan’s termination was announced on a day when the UP government counsel was present at the Allahabad High Court.
“The court was not informed of the government’s decision either,” said Khan.
