ITDC INIDA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS:  Congress leader Jairam Ramesh snapped back at External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for his remarks that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had the "habit" of criticising India abroad, stating it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself who started taking national politics outside the country.

This came after Jaishankar criticised Rahul Gandhi, stating "taking national politics out of the country is not in the nation's interest."

Jairam Ramesh tweeted: "The man who started the practice of taking national politics outside the country is none other than the man who gave you your ministerial position. You know it but you cannot acknowledge it Dr. Minister."

AICC Media and Publicity Department chairman Pawar Khera too hit out the EAM. "I hope Mr Jaishankar was able to block the transmission of Hathras, Lakhimpur, farmers’ protests, wrestlers’ protests, news on Kathua, Unnao, Ankita Bhandari, Manipur, etc across the world. And he is supposed to be educated. Precondition to joining the Sangh brigade - travel light, leave your brains behind," Khera tweeted.

Their responses were in line with Rahul Gandhi's speech during his US tour where he said the BJP and RSS are "incapable" of looking at the future and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to drive the Indian car by only looking in the rear-view mirror which will lead to "one accident after another".

While addressing a massive community event at the Javits Centre organised by the American chapter of the Indian Overseas Congress, Rahul said: If you ask the BJP why a train accident happened, they will say the Congress party did such a thing 50 years ago", taking a swipe at the government following the Odisha train accident, one of the worst railway tragedies in the country."
