ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS With dense fog engulfing North India, road accidents are on the rise along the National Highway stretches. At least one person was reported dead and 10 others were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with a container vehicle due to fog in the Dankaur area on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the bus was carrying around 60 passengers and the injured have been taken to a hospital.

As per reports, Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala's car met with an accident near Haryana's Agroha late Monday night while he was travelling from Hisar to Sirsa. The car collided with the police vehicle. While the deputy CM escaped unharmed, a police officer was injured, said reports.

Incidents of vehicle collisions and road accidents were reported in several parts of Haryana, UP, and Delhi.

At least five people were killed and 33 injured in separate accidents due to dense fog on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Auraiya district and the national highway in Aligarh on Monday.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted dense to very dense fog conditions over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh,

Low visibility was reported from Lodhi Road, Safdarjung, Airport flyover and AIIMS.

In the wake of the dense fog, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to implement an action plan with inter-departmental coordination for road safety to prevent accidents.

In Aligarh, two people were killed and 24 others injured in accidents on National Highway 91 due to heavy fog, officials said.
