ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Uttar Pradesh caretaker Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Delhi on Wednesday evening to discuss the government formation in the state with the BJP central leadership. This is the second time Adityanath is visiting the national capital after the BJP stormed back to power in the state in the recently held Assembly elections.

Reports said Adityanath will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the latter’s residence to discuss and finalise the names of ministers in the new cabinet. BJP chief J.P. Nadda and the party’s national General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh are also likely to attend the meeting.

“There are over a dozen vacancies as some sitting ministers lost the elections, while a few left the party before the polls. While finalising the names, social engineering and regional balance will be also considered,” a party insider told IANS.

Adityanath reached Delhi directly from Dehradun where he had attended the swearing-in of Pushkar Singh Dhami government.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Party meeting will be held in Lucknow on Thursday and the swearing-in of the new government will take place on March 25.

Adityanath had visited Delhi on March 13, two days after the results of the Assembly polls were declared, and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders to discuss the government formation.

The BJP stormed back to power in the politically crucial state, trouncing its main rival Samajwadi Party, with Adityanath asserting that people have buried the politics of caste and religion.

The BJP won 255 seats in the 403-member assembly. Its two allies secured another 18 seats.
