Out on bail on medical grounds, Pragya Thakur plays cricket in Bhopal

ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Bharatiya Janata Party MP Pragya Singh Thakur is out on bail in the 2008 Malegaon blast case ostensibly because of her poor health. However, she has often been seen indulging in various activities like dancing and playing games with noticeable ease, drawing flak from the opposition parties.

In a new video that has surfaced online, the MP who usually moves in a wheelchair, was seen playing cricket along with a group of people in Bhopal's Shakti Nagar area. In the nearly one minute-long video, the firebrand leader could be seen hitting a ball with her bat while others in the ground chanted “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.

Thakur was given bail by an NIA court in Mumbai in 2017 on health grounds. In January, the court had even exempted her from physically appearing in the case.

However, she had been caught on camera playing basketball and kabaddi on different occasions. She was also seen breaking into a Garba dance while visiting Navratri celebrations in her constituency.

Thakur won from Bhopal in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls defeating Congress's Digvijay Singh by over 3.6 lakh votes.
