Message to Pakistan? Shah warns of repeat of surgical strike

ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday warned Pakistan India could carry out more strikes against terrorist groups based in that country.

Shah was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the National Forensic Science University at Dharbandora in South Goa.

Shah underlined the symbolic importance of the surgical strike carried out in response to the terrorist attack in Uri in 2016. Shah was quoted by ANI as saying, "Another important step was surgical strike under PM Modi and former defence minister Manohar Parrikar. We sent out a message that one should not disrupt India's borders... There was a time when talks happened, but now is the time to reciprocate."

Declaring that India will not tolerate cross-border attacks, Shah said "We can strike again."

Shah will address BJP workers in Goa at 6pm on Thursday. His visit is expected to give impetus to the party's preparations for next year's Assembly polls. The 2022 election would be the first Assembly polls in decades the BJP would be contesting without the presence of Manohar Parrikar, the party's tallest leader in Goa.
