Karnataka leadership change issue will conclude today, says minister

ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Karnataka Health Minister Dr K. Sudhakar has revealed that Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa has already spoken to the BJP high command. "He has spoken to the high command. His final decision will be out today. Whatever it is, the issue of leadership change will reach a logical end today," said Sudhakar.

For Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, it has been business as usual on Monday amid speculation over his impending resignation.

The chief minister had summoned Chief Secretary Ravikumar and Advocate General Prabhuling Navadagi to his residence and held a closed-door meeting, before heading to Vidhana Soudha to take part in the "Sadhana Samavesha", a celebration marking the completion of two years of the BJP rule in Karnataka.

On Sunday too, Yediyurappa had insisted that he would be getting a "signal" from the party high command any time and he would abide by the party diktat.

"I might get the message any time. I will continue to work till the last minute (of tenure as CM)," Yediyurappa had maintained. However, the party leadership chose to downplay the issue as it is keen that the Lingayat strongman demits office on his own to avoid any backlash from the community and Yediyurappa supporters.
