ITDC INIDA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS: A 19-year-old girl from Bhopal eloped with her Muslim boyfriend just before her marriage even as BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur had advised her to stay away from him and even taken her to watch the controversial Bollywood film The Kerala Story.
Directed by Sudipto Sen, The Kerala Story depicts how women from Kerala were forced to convert and recruited by the terror group Islamic State (IS).
Reports said the girl, a nursing student, was in an affair with her neighbour Yusuf and eloped with him just before her wedding scheduled on May 30.
The girl's family has filed a complaint at Bhopal's Kamla Nagar police station. They alleged that Yusuf has taken a loan in the girl's name and is now forcing her to pay the EMI.
According to some reports, Yusuf is a history-sheeter with more than six criminal cases against him.
Earlier, based on the family's complaint, Pragya Singh Thakur, the Bhopal MP, had advised the girl to stay away from Yusuf and even taken her to watch The Kerala Story.
The film, starring Adah Sharma, had sparked off a political outrage with the opposition parties, including the Congress and the ruling CPI(M) in Kerala, terming it an 'RSS propaganda' to defame a particular community.
