ITDC INIDA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS A day after a 20-year-old youth was arrested for the brutal murder of a 16-year-old minor girl at the Shahbad Dairy area in Delhi, horrific details of the crime have emerged, including how the accused could have planned the murder.

According to the police, the accused Sahil purchased the knife two weeks ago, hinting that he had planned to murder the minor, who he had a relationship with. "During questioning, Sahil said that he had bought the knife used in the murder about 15 days ago from a weekly market," police sources told ANI.

He, however, has not yet given a clear answer about where he bought the knife. "Police are also investigating whether or not the murder was a 'crime of passion' or done on a sudden provocation," the sources said.

However, Sahil claim he murdered the girl in a fit of rage, reported NDTV. He said he has no regrets about murdering as the victim was involved with her former boyfriend. He also claimed that the "ex-boyfriend was a hooligan whom he feared."

"He said he was enraged as the girl had been ignoring him for some time," NDTV quoted police sources.

Sahil brutally killed the 16-year-old girl Sunday evening by stabbing her over 20 times and bludgeoning her to death with a cement slab. The victim was found to have 34 injury marks on her body and her skull was ruptured.

Switched off his phone

Sahil reportedly switched off his mobile phone after brutally murdering the girl. He then changed two buses to reach Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. “After murdering the girl, accused Sahil went to Rithala, dumped the weapon and changed two buses to reach Bulandshahr,” police sources said. He was arrested from Bulandshahr after a call from his aunt to his father was traced to a location in Uttar Pradesh.
