ITDC INDIA E PRESS /ITDC NEWS : AIIMS Bhopal Research Cell is conducting a comprehensive three day research methodology workshop for its MD/MS/DM/MCh medical students and MSc Nursing students to prepare them for their three years of academic tenure at the institute. How to conduct quality research/thesis during

The institute ensures that the thesis done by the students is of high quality and makes an impact in medical research and also teaches the students appropriate techniques to conduct good quality research. This program was inaugurated by Ajay Singh. who emphasized that research is needed not only as a part of the curriculum.

Rather, there is also a need to imbibe appropriate and relevant knowledge from the many research papers being published nowadays.

A total of 56 students from various clinical and para-clinical departments of the institute are participating in the workshop and in-house faculty members of the institute will deliver didactic lectures on various aspects of research protocol writing such as introduction, methodology, reference manager software, study design and sample count etc. .

This will make the students self-reliant to conduct their thesis and avoid depending on others in managing these different aspects of the thesis. The students are provided with pre and post test questionnaires and as a part of their course a final test is also to be passed at the end of the workshop. The teaching faculty members also told the students that this type of workshop is not usually organized in many places

And students should make full use of this activity in conducting their thesis work more efficiently. Since apart from clinical work and teaching, research is an integral mandate of AIIMS Bhopal. The Research Cell focuses on carrying out such activities every six months for each new batch of students inducted into the postgraduate programmes.
