ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS : An Islamabad Court on Thursday dismissed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's plea seeking suspension of arrest warrants in Toshakhana case.

An Islamabad district and sessions court dismissed Imran Khan’s plea seeking the suspension of non-bailable arrest warrants issued in the Toshakhana case, Dawn reported. The Court said the warrant cannot be suspended on the basis of an undertaking.

Imran Khan faces arrest warrants in various cases and the former Premier claims he faces warrants in about 80 cases.

The Court passed the orders hearing a plea of the Election Commission of Pakistan seeking criminal proceedings against the former prime minister for concealing details of Toshakhana gifts.

Lahore's upscale Zaman Park area, where Khan, 70, resides, turned into a battleground after his defiant supporters engaged in pitched battles with policemen on Tuesday to stop them from arresting their leader in the Toshakhana case, resulting in injuries to more than 60 people.

Khan, the former Pakistan Prime Minister has been in the crosshairs for buying gifts, including an expensive Graff wristwatch he had received as the premier at a discounted price from the state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for profit.
