ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS : We are back with a list of exciting new releases arriving on streaming platforms this week. From Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, to Manoj Bajpayee's Gulmohar and Mohanlal's Alone, movies form a major part of the lineup. Here is a quick look at what's arriving on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney plus Hotstar and other platforms this week:

Waltair Veerayya: Netflix

Release date: February 27

The Telugu action comedy starring Chiranjeevi was released in theatres in January. The film revolves around a fisherman who smuggles goods, and a police officer who tries to extradite a notorious criminal from Malaysia. The film also features Ravi Teja, Bobby Simha, and Shruti Hassan among others.

Release date: March 3

The Mohanlal-starrer which arrived in theatres in January will now be available to OTT viewers. The thriller, directed by Shaji Kailas, features just one character essayed by Mohanlal. Set during the pandemic-induced lockdown, the film revolves around a man who moves into an apartment in Kochi, and later begins to hear voices.

Gulmohar: Disney plus Hotstar

Release date: March 3

Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Sharmila Tagore and Amol Palekar, the film revolves around the Batra family, who are all set to move out of their 34-year-old family home. “This moving out triggers a re-discovery of the bonds that have held them together as a family while grappling with personal secrets and insecurities,” the synopsis read. Directed by Rahul V. Chittella, the film also stars Suraj Sharma of Life of Pi fame and Simran Rishi Bagga.

Daisy Jones and the Six: Amazon Prime Video

Release date: March 3

Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's bestselling novel, the series revolves around the whirlwind rise of a rock band in the 1970s, and their shocking decision to part ways. The musical drama features original music and is one of the most anticipated releases this week. Riley Keough and Sam Claflin have been roped in to essay the lead singers Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne. The adaptation of the popular book has been bankrolled by Reese Witherspoon and her production company Hello Sunshine.

Chris Rock: Selective Outrage – Netflix

Release date: March 4

Chris Rock is set to create history as he performs stand-up comedy in Netflix's first global live-streaming event. This is Chris's second collaboration with the streaming giant after 2018's Tamborine. Netflix will also air live pre- and postshow events from the Comedy Store in L.A. using the same live feed.

Taj: Divided by Blood – ZEE5

Release date: March 3

Featuring veteran actors Dharmendra and Naseeruddin Shah, the series delves into the inner workings of the Mughal empire. The 10-episode series is expected to showcase the beauty as well as brutality, and the fight for succession. While Shah plays Emperor Akbar, Dharmendra essays Sheikh Salim Chishti. The ensemble cast includes Aditi Rao Hydari as Anarkali, Aashim Gulati as Prince Salim, Taha Shah as Prince Murad, Shubham Kumar Mehra as Prince Daniyal, Sandhya Mridul as Queen Jodha Bai, Zareena Wahab as Queen Salima, Sauraseni Maitra as Mehr un Nisa and Rahul Bose as Mirza Hakim.

The Mandalorian season 3: Disney plus Hotstar

Release date: March 1

The third season of the popular series revolves around bounty hunter Din Djarin, who returns to Mandalore. He also brings along his companion Grogu as set out for new adventures.
