ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS Eminent Malayalam writer and actor Madambu Kunjukuttan died of COVID-19 at a private hospital in Thrissur on Tuesday. He was 81.

He tested positive for the virus after he was admitted to a hospital due to high fever on Sunday, The  Hindu reported.

Kunjukuttan won the National Award for the Best Scriptwriter in 2000 for the film Karunam, directed by Jayaraj. He also wrote scripts for movies like Makalkku, Gourishankaram, Saphalam, Karunam and Deshadanam.

He has also acted in many Malayalam movies.

Mollywood celebrities have condoled the demise of Kunjukuttan. Actor Prithviraj said that social media timelines have started to look like an obituary column. “RIP! Folded hands #MadambuKunjukuttan Sir. PS: Social media timelines are beginning to look like obituary columns. Prayers for the departed and their families..and hope that times change for the better soon (sic),” Prithviraj wrote on his Twitter page.
