ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS Chennai: In a recent development into the Tamil Nadu medical negligence case, where a pregnant woman was transfused HIV infected blood, the donor whose blood was transfused, has now attempted suicide on Wednesday.

Mirror Now reported, the 19-year-old donor attempted suicide by drinking poison due to shame. He was immediately rushed to the hospital in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu and is now under treatment.

A Tamil Nadu-based 24-year-old woman was eight-months pregnant and diagnosed with anaemia two weeks ago. She was transfused with HIV positive blood in a government-run hospital. The woman required blood transfusion urgently but it was claimed that HIV+ blood was transfused due to a callous mistake of the doctor and the nurses of the hospital in Sattur, Tamil Nadu.
